Crown Hotel


Set in the heart of Old Amersham, The Crown was originally a sixteenth century Elizabethan coaching inn and has been famous for years, most recently as a setting for the romantic comedy film Four Weddings and a Funeral . The Crown combines old world charm with the modern comforts of today. The Crown offers the best in traditional and friendly hospitality to all visitors. Behind its Georgian facade is an authentic Elizabethan interior of original beams, unique hand painted walls and oak paneling. The recent addition of 14 new rooms to the hotel has created a heady mixture of old world charm combined with contemporary facilities. Air conditioning, CD players and digital T.V. all feature in the newly designed rooms and a purpose built boardroom provides an excellent venue for the smaller conference. During Winter, afternoon teas are served in the cozy Elizabethan lounge beside the open log fires, in the Summer tea can be served in the newly landscaped gardens whilst enjoying a spot of croquet. This traditional inn is within easy reach of London with Amersham located at the far end of the Underground's Metropolitan line. Old Amersham is full of small boutique shops selling high quality craft goods and designer clothes. It also provides an ideal base for exploring the Chiltern countryside and yet is only a few miles from the M40 and M25 motorways. The Crown also boasts 2 RAC dining awards.
